Objectives:

You will be designing a promotional poster and CD Jewel case cover. You will need to demonstrate an understanding of the 90's type and layout design. You will need to display mastery of Photoshop. It will be important for you to explore principles of design including hierarchy, white space, alignment, contrast, proximity, scale, and repetition. Most importantly, you will learn to have total disregard for anything you've learned about type of to this point in your design education!

 

 

This was my collage to practice using typography as aesthetic and art which helped me to get an idea on how to deconstruct type

I added white rectangles to add the contrast of the Djs face to work with colors and create a cool look as the background of the poster

I used the the paint tool to add a spray paint like effect as well as added type in the corner and copy and pasted it over eachother multiple times to make it overlap and have a cool deconstructed type look

Throughout the poster there is a glow effect to really draw the eye to text and add a more cool aesthetic look

for the cd cover I wanted to use the paint tool to add spray paint on the back but in pink to contrast the movie poster

I added white rectangles to use the invert  colors again I also copy and pasted the glow text from the movie poster onto the cd case to really make them come together
